The United Methodist Retirement Homes (UMRH) Foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation that acts exclusively for charitable and eeducation purposes as defined by sections 501(c)(3) and 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation meets three times a year, usually at a time preceding the meeting of The UMRH Board of Trustees.
The purpose of the Foundation is to raise endowment funds for Cypress Glen, Croasdaile Village, and Wesley Pines; to support benevolent care for those residents who have depleted their resources and are unable to pay for continuing care; and to support special programs at affiliated retirement communities. The Foundation is governed by a board of directors.

ETHICS AND PROTECTION OF INFORMATION

The Foundation and its volunteer and staff representatives always consider the interests of the donors as the first priority in planning gifts. Information learned by any representative of the Foundation about a donor or the donor's assets or philanthropic intentions, is held in strict confidence.

It is neither the province of the Foundation nor its volunteer or staff representatives to give legal, accounting, tax, or other advice which is usually reserved to the donor's counsel while acting on the Foundation's behalf.
